Our General Policy Our general policy is to make funds from any type of check deposit available to you no later than the first business day after the day of your deposit.

Mail-in Deposits

Deposits received before the end of a business day will be credited to your account that day. There may be a delay before these funds are available for you to use.

Usually, you'll have access to your direct deposit at the opening of business on your payday — by 9 a.m. In many cases, direct deposits hit accounts even earlier, often between midnight and 6 a.m. on payday morning. But there are factors that can affect how long it takes your direct deposit to become available.

Here's what Citi says about your payment posting: “If we receive your online payment request for your consumer credit card by midnight Eastern time, your balance will be credited as of that calendar day. Please be aware, your payment account will typically be debited within 2-3 business days.”

You're more likely to find a digital bank with early direct deposit than a brick-and-mortar one. A surprising number of global banks still don't offer the service. They include, but are not limited to, PNC, Chase Bank, Citibank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.
