Experience a remote archipelago on this Cape Verde sailing adventure. This voyage offers a mix of active but comfortable sailing while exploring six breathtaking islands.

The crew invites you to help with all activities on board. Experience hoisting the sails, steering and navigating. Each day of sailing is followed by a full day on one of the Cape Verde islands. Here, you can relax in the sun and explore the island with a local guide. At night, you will stay at sea with the crew and enjoy freshly prepared meals by an experienced chef.

Cape Verde enjoys a tropical climate. The sea temperature stays around 25 degrees Celsius, and the often-strong Trade winds originate from the northeast. It rarely rains and the bright sun shines constantly, perfect for a winter sun adventure! All islands are volcanic but unique, with varied terrain. The landscape consists of steep terrace fields with bananas and coffee plantations, sand deserts, black volcanos and a fierce deep blue ocean. On some of the islands, rare seabirds can be found. The waters are full of fly-fish, tuna, sea turtles and whales.

Accommodation

All cabins are equipped with a hot and cold tap sink, bedding and towel, European sockets, heating, and forced ventilation for a comfortable night in the tropics. Toilets and showers are communal and separate for men and women. The living area is spacious and comfortably furnished, with large tables, games, musical instruments, a projector and screen, and a library – perfect for relaxed social evenings after an active day at sea or wandering the islands.

Meals

An experienced chef prepares three well-balanced meals a day. Snacks are served between meals. Coffee, tea and milk are included, and other drinks are served at regular bar prices.

Is there an age limit?

No, provided you’re in good health and fitness. The crew welcome sailors of all ages on these voyages.

Can I explore the islands on my own?

Of course! All activities are optional; you can freely explore or choose to relax in the sun.

Can I book as a solo traveller?

Yes absolutely! Solo travellers are welcome and you’ll find many people onboard who join solo. There’s no single supplement for the shared same sex cabins. Both 4 and 2 person berths are available that suit solo, couple and group bookings.

We love the brilliant voyages she undertakes that you can join, with no previous sailing experience, as voyage crew.Sailing with a large and genuine sailing ship like this is a very special experience. You join the crew sailing, steering and navigating the ship. Sailing experience is not required for this as the professional crew will explain and teach you everything you need to know.

There is an informal feeling on board and the main point of a voyage is to have a hands-on, active experience and exposure to the sea and sailing as well as the regions you travel between. That said, the ship is furnished comfortably and supplied with all modern conveniences. All the cabins are fitted with a washbasin with hot and cold running water and there are separate sets of showers. In the spacious and stylishly appointed salon there are reading tables, seating areas and a piano.

Life on board is made even better by delicious meals prepared by a professional chef to fuel you up for a day’s sailing.
